Controls and Automation Manufacturing Engineer

Position Summary

Williams is expanding our team with a skilled manufacturing engineer to evaluate, design, and implement advanced manufacturing processes. Responsibilities of this position include developing new technology methods to support manufacturing performance, solving complex equipment problems, and training personnel. A Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or Controls Engineering is required.

Position Responsibilities
  • Develop and sustain manufacturing processes.
  • Develop and implement new technology to include support to existing processes and develop new assembly and test methods to include PLC based controls and automation.
  • Develop process documentation and train personnel on new processes, materials and equipment.
  • Solve complex equipment/process problems.
  • Solves problems confronting manufacturing performance, directly or indirectly.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering or Controls Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Interaction with and support of a manufacturing team.
  • Experience in building multiple manufacturing stations/equipment involving actuators, pneumatics, sensors, jigs/fixtures, and safety features.
  • Good communication and computer skills.
  • Ability to develop and prepare process documentation, technical reports and presentations.
  • Strong mechanical/ electrical aptitude.
  • Proven experience in PLC logic and programming with any of the following PLCs: Allen Bradley, Modicon, GE Fanuc, Siemens, AutomationDirect, Mitsubishi, Omron, Aromat, Toshiba, etc.; and HMI or SCADA programming and configuration of any of the following software packages Wonderware, Rockwell, Intellution, GE Cimplicity, Ci-Tech, Iconics, Siemens, US Data, etc.
Desirable Qualifications
  • BS in Controls Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • CAD or Solidworks experience helpful.
  • Automated equipment design and build experience.
  • PLC programming and troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience in manual and CNC machining experience a plus but not required.
  • Experience in lean line design (error-proofing).
  • Experience in building multiple manufacturing stations/equipment involving actuators, pneumatics, sensors, jigs/fixtures, and safety features.
