Dynamic Lighting – Realities, Practicalities, Potential | 1 LU/HSW

Dynamic lighting, also generally referred to as tunable, color-changing, and circadian, has washed over our lighting community. Many studies and early adopters have seeded the market and several lighting manufacturers now employ some level of Dynamic Lighting. This course is intended to educate by sharing the experiences of a commercial lighting manufacturer regarding Dynamic Lighting. It will explore the sources, how they work in commercial luminaires, how to control dynamic lighting, and where the lighting community is being directed by standards, regulation, and voice of the customer.

Austin Caby is a Product Manager at Williams where he manages the upkeep and wellbeing of products and coordinates custom projects. He has been in the lighting industry and with Williams for 5 years, serving a variety of roles including inside sales, customer service and quotations. In his spare time, Austin loves to travel with his family and experience all kinds of food!

Jen Nekuda is a licensed professional engineer with 20 years of technical expertise in lighting applications and control strategies. Her experience includes project management, lighting design, engineer consulting, and her current role of Controls Sales Engineer. She believes the best way to give back is to teach others. For fun, she teaches lighting and computer courses at Park University and runs 5k races!
